Hi, I'm Tasos Pikridas. I'm years old, currently living in Athens, Greece. I work as a software engineer and have a passion for technology, as well as being a hobbyist music producer. I'm a creative individual who enjoys building and innovating stuff.
My first 10 years were spent creating fun things out of cardboard. At the age of 10 (in 2004), I began my journey in computer programming through DeAgostini's model series "Build and program your ROBOT". This series involved building a robot using a Basic Stamp 2 microcontroller and programming it using a type of BASIC programming language (called PBASIC). Soon enough, I realized I was most interested in the programming aspect of the project. Programming perfectly fitted my interest of creating from imagination to realization.
In my teenage years, I started playing with Visual Basic and C++, creating simple games, small applications, and math/physics visualizations based on what I learned in school. I also competed in the 23rd Greek National Competition in Informatics in 2011, making it to the 3rd (final) phase.
At 13, I began writing my first songs and got my first electric guitar at 15. I taught myself through tabs, videos, and later by ear. I became interested in guitar sound effects and multitrack recording, purchasing my first computer audio interface at 16. I started "building" my original songs and covers. As a novice guitar player, I found joy in combining simple, minimal melodies, resulting in something bigger altogheter, similar to the creative process in programming.
In 2011, I started my studies in Electrical and Computer Engineering at National Technical University of Athens, earning my diploma in 2018. During that time, I worked on various personal projects in addition to my coursework. In 2015, I ventured into web development, creating my first websites and applications, and later started freelancing. In 2017, I secured a position as a web developer.
As a university student, I also explored singing to record my songs and covers. I bought an electronic drumset to learn drumming and compose my grooves. During that time, I worked as a musician (playing guitar, baglama, percussion, and backing vocals) in small restaurants (2014-2016). I continued to write new songs and experiment with different musical styles.
In that case, feel free to check out my other pages or social media.
